Decision 2026: The Future of Florida
Decision 2026: The Future of Florida Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, being located in the capital city of our great state, has the distinct and potent opportunity and responsibility to equip its student body with the information and skills to be active participants in politics, and one day become the future leaders of the state. In order to prepare the student body for their upcoming assignments, and the state of Florida for their future, FAMU’s brand new Civic Engagement Institute, partnered with student organizations should host and moderate a Gubernatorial Forum. “Decision 2026: The Future of Florida” would be an informational event designed to engage the student body and greater Tallahassee community with a spirited dialogue of today's issues and big questions. The Event would: Strengthen partnerships with the Tallahassee community, and state officials. Enhance the student experience by stoking friendly and productive civil discussions. Frame the university as a bastion and training ground of future civic leaders This event can be marketed as completely student-ran. From the moderator, to additional questions, to even green room staff, we can demonstrate a political competency and poise unlike other universities, and ensure FAMU is the top priority of the next Governor. From Monday, October 12, 2026 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM EDT at Lee Hall .
