Council of Independent Organization
The Council of Independent Organizations (CIO) at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University promotes leadership development, accountability, collaboration, and impactful programming among independent organizations while enhancing student engagement at FAMU . The Council shall serve as the official governing body representing its member organizations on matters of governance, leadership development, accountability, and collaboration. CIO governs all fraternities and sororities at FAMU that are not member organizations of the NPHC or the PFC. The current CIO member organizations are: National Society of Pershing Angels National Society of Pershing Rifles Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Sigma Lambda Beta National Fraternity Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority MALIK, INC. Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. Epsilon Eta Environmental Fraternity SISTUHS, Inc Progressive Black Men, Inc
