Article § 7(a) of Florida's Constitution states, "It shall be the policy of the state to conserve and protect its natural resources and scenic beauty. Adequate provision shall be made by law for the abatement of air and water pollution and of excessive and unnecessary noise and for the conservation and protection of natural resources." It is the goal of ELS to educate students on natural resources and regulations, while promoting advocacy and volunteer work. Getting Law students to not only think theoretically about the environment, but also get them into the local habitats. By getting to know the ecosystems we exist in, we can deepen our respect, advocacy, and work towards a better future.
