The FL ASABE-BASE Club is an organization of undergraduate students in the Biological Systems Engineering Program (BSE) at the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences (CAFS). We are a student branch of ASABE- the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers- an international organization committed to promoting Agricultural and Biological Engineering through professional development, continuing education, and networking. Here at FAMU, the student branch of the ASABE offers its members exciting opportunities for professional development, leadership, services to the community, and social activities with students who share similar interests in engineering. This ASABE student club has proved to be an excellent retention tool in the past. Currently, we have a very active group of students in the ASABE student club. FAMU ASABE student club was awarded” 2019 Outstanding Student Branch of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, Southeast Region”. This is the first time this regional award has been won by an 1890 historically black university.
