
FGCU Salutes Service and Sacrifice Grand Recognition Ceremony Help us celebrate 250 Veterans who have served this great nation. The week will conclude with a Grand Recognition Ceremony celebrating veterans, military families, ROTC cadets, service organizations, and community partners. The event will emphasize the enduring relationship between FGCU and the Southwest Florida military community. Two ceremonies will take place and depending on the time, awardees will be coming either from 0900-1030 or 1100-1230. EVENT I – COHEN 201- 0900–1030 0830–0900 – Prelude Music Lee County Community Band begins prelude music. Color Guard/ROTC personnel move into position. 0900 – Welcome & Opening Remarks MC Welcome and opening remarks. Introduction of Master of Ceremonies. Recognition of distinguished guests. Recognition of military and veteran partners. 0905 – Presentation of Colors ROTC Color Guard- Gulf Coast High School Army JROTC (Collier County) Presentation of Colors. Color Guard remains in position for National Anthem/Pledge. 0910 – National Anthem & Pledge National Anthem: Community Band Pledge of Allegiance: Community Band 0915 – Invocation / Moment of Reflection SGT Dan Bernard – Chaplain, MOPH Invocation. Moment of reflection honoring those who served, sacrificed, and those who did not return home. 0930–0945 – Guest Speaker CMSgt Lisa Arnold Guest remarks.
