*Guided Trip with Transportation* - My Autism Connection Friendsgiving Picnic Volunteer Opportunity: Friendsgiving Potluck – Bring Families Together About MAC: My Autism Connection is a nonprofit serving Level 1 autistic adults (18+) across Southwest Florida, offering social, skill-building, and career development opportunities. Help My Autism Connection create a memorable evening of food, fun, and heartwarming community! Volunteers are needed to support a Friendsgiving picnic for members and their families. Date : Saturday, November 14th ⏰ Event Time : 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM Meeting Location : McTarnaghan Hall Bus Loop Meet at 8:45 AM | Depart at 9:00 AM | Return by 3:30 PM What You'll Be Doing Set-up & decorating : Set up tables, chairs, signage, and Thanksgiving-themed decorations before guests arrive Food & beverage assistance : Help manage the food/buffet line and keep it stocked throughout the potluck Running activities : Help lead the team scavenger hunt and outdoor games (think pumpkin-themed relay races and team challenges!) Guest assistance : Welcome families, help with name tags, and support members in finding their team and getting comfortable Donation outreach : Help reach out to local businesses for gift card prizes and food donations Clean-up : Help pack up decorations, supplies, and trash before departure Planning meeting : Attend one planning meeting (1 hour) beforehand to review roles and prep Sustainable Development Goals: This experience connects to: Reduced Inequalities Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions Good Health and Well-Being Transferable Skills You'll Gain Event planning and operations Teamwork/Collaboration Communication and Hospitality Professionalism and Work Ethic Leadership and initiative Community Engagement Organization Great Fit For Students In: Hospitality & Resort Management Education Special Education Communication Social Work Psychology Public Health Integrated Studies ✨ Volunteer your time and help make this Thanksgiving celebration special!
