LA HORA DEL CAFÉ La Hora del Café is a weekly conversation and community-building event hosted by the Department of Modern Languages at Florida International University (FIU) . The event provides students, faculty, and language enthusiasts with an informal and welcoming environment to practice Spanish, strengthen intercultural communication skills, and connect with members of the FIU community. Held every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Department of Modern Languages (SIPA II, Room 216), La Hora del Café encourages participants of all proficiency levels to engage in spontaneous conversations in Spanish while enjoying complimentary coffee and pastries sponsored by Café Bustelo . The initiative supports the department's mission of promoting language learning beyond the classroom by creating authentic opportunities for oral communication, cultural exchange, and community engagement.
