Beyond Adversities Beyond Adversity, taking place on October 8, is an inspiring conversation featuring Jorge Font and Ricardo Paván that explores resilience, disability inclusion, and the transformative power of sport. Through their personal experiences and leadership in adaptive sports and advocacy, Font and Paván will share how adversity can become a catalyst for growth, purpose, and meaningful impact. The event will challenge conventional perceptions of disability and ability while highlighting the importance of accessibility, equal opportunity, and inclusive communities. Beyond simply inspiring audiences to overcome personal challenges, Beyond Adversity seeks to encourage the FIU community to recognize inclusion as a shared responsibility and to redefine what is possible when barriers—physical, social, and cultural—are challenged.
