The mission of Alternative Breaks (AB) program at Florida International University (FIU) is to focus on creating active citizens through diversity, education, and leadership training to immerse them in diverse cultures and environments around the world to engage in service-oriented learning. We envision that the Alternative Breaks program at FIU will be the leading organization that provides service-learning experiences while creating civically engaged students who are actively committed to create positive social change in the local, national, and global communities.
