Join us for the next ISL Brown Bag Series featuring Dr. Molly Hermiller, who will present "Stimulating Age-Related Dedifferentiation in Memory Networks" on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM in Innovation Hub, Room 112 or on Zoom. Dr. Hermiller will discuss how healthy aging changes the organization of large-scale brain networks, particularly those that support episodic memory. The presentation will highlight research exploring whether noninvasive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) can modify age-related changes in hippocampal-cortical memory networks by increasing network specificity, altering functional connectivity, and ultimately supporting memory performance. She will also share ongoing work investigating when age-related dedifferentiation contributes to memory decline and when it may instead represent an adaptive mechanism that helps the aging brain maintain cognitive function. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend this engaging seminar and learn about emerging advances in cognitive neuroscience, brain stimulation, and healthy aging.
