The AWM is a student organization, open to all undergraduate and graduate students, that hopes to encourage women and other minorities to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of all people in mathematics. We have monthly meetings where we focus on the professional development of our members, for example through resume workshops and research talks. We also have social events like potlucks, movies, and game nights where we include math-related activities. We participate in events such as Math Fun Day and colloquiums. We also have a mentoring network where we facilitate communication and advice sharing between undergraduate and graduate students.
