Students for Dental Dignity at Florida State University
Students for Dental Dignity is a student-led service organization at Florida State University committed to restoring dignity, reducing preventable oral pain, and educating communities about the importance of oral hygiene. Our organization serves individuals experiencing homelessness and underserved populations through hands-on outreach, the distribution of personalized dental-hygiene kits, and compassionate, community-centered support. In addition to providing dental care kits to local shelters, we also visit underserved elementary schools to teach younger children how to care for their oral health. During these visits, members demonstrate proper brushing using dental models, lead activities like dental bingo to make learning engaging, and distribute individualized hygiene kits to reinforce healthy habits at home. Students for Dental Dignity combines service, education, and advocacy to expand access to oral care while fostering meaningful connections throughout the Tallahassee community.
