The provinces of Bengal in India and Bangladesh, are home to the Bengalis, people widely known for their sense of warmth and hospitality, their indulgence in festivities, for being connoisseurs of great food, and a long history of intellectual aura with immense love for literature and music, not to forget a keen interest in soccer. The current Bengali culture is a unique marriage of cosmopolitanism with traditional sanctity, something that makes Bengal a unique state. The Bengali student community of Tallahassee has a sizeable population and we have organized various cultural events in the past (at venues on and off-campus) that witnessed active participation from domestic and international students. The Bengali Student Association of FSU aims to foster solidarity between Bengali and non-Bengali students by showcasing the rich culture and tradition of Bengal to the whole student population at FSU, who come from varied nationalities and cultures. The membership of this organization will be open to all interested students and not limited to any particular community or nationality. The primary goal of BONGONOLE would be to inform people about this wonderful culture and its elements and showcase it to the FSU community and encourage active participation from Bengali and non-Bengali students. All activities and functions of The Bengali Student Association of FSU shall be legal under University, local, state, and federal laws.
