SPREADING HOPE AND STRENGTH WITH EACH CRANE FOLDED The Cranes for Cancer Association (CCA) is an organization dedicated to fostering cross-cultural exchange and raising cancer awareness in the educational and medical communities in Florida. Inspired by the cultural significance of origami paper cranes in Japanese culture and its symbolic meaning of hope and healing, Cranes for Cancer aims to share the historical art with our community by delivering origami cranes folded by University of Florida students to medical professionals and patients to express our appreciation. Our association values community, cultural exchange, and compassion. We aim to spread awareness, visibility, and knowledge of various aspects and symbols of Asian culture, such as Japanese origami cranes, to encourage the celebration of Asian heritage through biweekly general meetings and community outreach projects. Our biweekly general meetings will cover cultural topics such as elements of Japanese culture and significance of Japanese origami, as well as medical and health related topics such as health awareness campaigns and medical case studies.
