Gator Outreach Initiative
Gator Outreach Initiative (GOI) is an organization that serves the Gainesville community through education and community outreach. The organization provides free tutoring and educational resources to students of all ages and backgrounds, including incarcerated individuals preparing for their General Educational Development (GED) exams. BFI tutors provide tutoring in general academic subjects, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT. In addition to educational outreach, BFI offers members opportunities to volunteer in hospice and clinical settings, allowing students to serve a variety of community populations while gaining meaningful experience. Beyond service, Brighter Futures Initiative seeks to build a supportive and welcoming community where members encourage one another, support each other, form lasting connections, and work together toward a shared goal of making a positive impact. The organization creates opportunities for students to teach, learn, serve, and grow while giving back to the Gainesville community.
