At the core of Project Common Table, we focus on an initiative-based approach to homelessness prevention and rehousing efforts. This means that direct action such as rapid-rehousing and community rebuilding through volunteerism is the main way we intend to decrease homelessness. While we will focus on volunteering to accomplish our mission, we also intend to make education an important aspect of our mission. Such education includes equity vs. equality, the importance of government support in rehousing efforts, and the impact substance (ab)use can have on homelessness. These educational experiences can be accomplished through guest speakers, team building activities, and short lectures at general body meetings.
