Our organization is run by a student executive committee that organizes events to improve student understanding of the challenges of the United States dysfunctional health system. Anyone who has experienced illness will warn you of the unexpected expenses as well as the potential dangers of our current system. It will take active campaigning by the next generation to bring about meaningful change. Our organization will teach students how to become active organizers to bring about change. We also participate in lobbying efforts at the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee, where students have the opportunity to advocate for healthcare reform and bring important healthcare issues directly to state lawmakers. We will be sponsoring Town Hall Meetings on Medical Debt, The Plight of Uninsured Cancer Patients, and The Potential Impact of Poorly Designed Vaccine Programs. We will sponsor health fairs in our rural communities to improve health literacy and build trust in our local healthcare systems. Anyone interested in a potential career in healthcare should join and become part of the solution!
