Simple Words
The primary goal of the Simple Words seminar is to bring in outstanding researchers from a variety of areas, both within and outside the math department, to discuss their work in simple words. The aim is for a first-year graduate student or an enthusiastic undergraduate to follow the main ideas of the talk. The seminar gives early graduate students an opportunity to explore different areas of research they might pursue, while encouraging interaction between students and faculty in an informal setting. It also offers students a chance to see how mathematical ideas can connect to a wide variety of applications and fields. We arrange pizza and drinks to make the seminar a relaxed and welcoming environment for everyone.
