Being able to understand science is important, but being able to explain it clearly and accurately is just as valuable. Join us for an interactive workshop focused on turning complex scientific information into messages that different audiences can understand and use. Students will practice breaking down scientific jargon, adapting messages for different audiences, identifying misleading headlines, and communicating science without sacrificing accuracy. Through hands-on challenges, students will put these skills into practice by creating their own science communication product. You’ll leave with: Strategies for making complex science clear and accessible Experience adapting scientific information for different audiences Skills for recognizing misleading headlines and misinformation A framework for balancing clarity and scientific accuracy Practice communicating uncertainty responsibly Your own science communication product A stronger understanding of how communication can influence health decisions, education, public trust, and policy Good science can make an impact, but only if people can understand it. Learn how to make science connect. This event will also count towards earning the Health Research & Scientific Communication digital badge coming this Fall. Join to learn more.
