The purpose of the Campus Canines Collective is to provide organized opportunities to offer improved wellbeing and stress relief through ethical human-animal interactions to members of the UNF community, including students, faculty, and staff. This organization aims to promote collaboration between students and volunteer handlers, education about therapy animals and their role, facilitation of positive/healing human-animal interactions, and establish this therapeutic initiative as a more foundational piece of student life. Additionally this space will foster a sense of community among members as well as provide opportunities for leadership, personal growth, and collaboration aligned with the mission of University of North Florida. Meetings once a month along with scheduled/advertised opportunities for therapeutic human-animal interactions across campus are set in place to uphold this mission.
