The Alpha Delta Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) is an honor society at the University of Miami, partnered with the Department of Geography and Sustainable Development, designed “to promote and reward scholarship and service among students and practitioners of geographical sciences, such as geography and geospatial technology, while fostering integrity and creative performance in the conduct of geographical sciences.” Installed at The U in 1949, GTU seeks to bring together young scholars as well as anyone interested in the field of geographical sciences. It also hopes to further students’ academic and career development, facilitate networking and friendships, and provide an open forum for discussion. While official membership into the national honor society requires certain eligibility requirements to be met, membership and participation in the club is open to all!
