Once Upon a Room
The objectives of Once Upon a Room shall be to: ● Host bi-monthly grand body meetings to keep members informed ● Delegate club members to attend hospital visits based on apparent effort and interest in Once Upon a Room ● Visit the hospital bi-monthly to decorate the hospital rooms of children ● Raise funding to put towards the supplies by means of social media, tabling, and outreach into the local community ● Collaborate with local businesses for percent profit fundraising ● Work with local independent living facilities in crafting activities such as building “boredom buster bags” to foster community outreach ● Grow the University of Miami’s connection with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital through our visits and volunteer work in the rooms of their patients ● Expand community involvement and volunteer work through each activity ● Brighten the holiday spirit at Nicklaus through custom made goodie baskets made by club members which in turn will grow club member holiday spirit, club involvement, and excitement to volunteer ● Encourage connections amongst all club members through fundraising events that also encourage socialization
