In 1969, the Alpha Chi chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was forced to close, after spending more than twenty years dominating the Greek scene at UM. Forty years later, a group of student leaders at The U came together to form a new Greek organization, and the Alpha Chi chapter of Pi Kappa Phi was reborn. United in ambition and perseverance, the founding fathers of Pi Kappa Phi Alpha Chi dedicated themselves to reclaiming the esteem of those who preceded us. They displayed these abilities by acquiring our fraternity house, renovating it and beating out several other well-established fraternities for the spot. Pi Kapp is a dominant force in inter-fraternal competition and sports. We are consistently a major contender to hoist the IFC President's Cup, the yearly award consummating all fraternity athletic events. We actively participate in both the Homecoming and Greek Week competitions, and have seen our efforts rewarded: this past fall we won third place alongside Zeta Tau Alpha. Our philanthropy, The Ability Experience, is the only philanthropy maintained and run by a national fraternity. It benefits people with disabilities all around the country and gives undergraduate members the opportunity to work with them. This past fall we raised over $7,000 with our Pi Kappa Petting Zoo, which was a resounding success with sororities across campus. This was our highest grossing fall philanthropy yet, and we are looking forward to our annual War of the Roses in the spring. Sorority relations are an important part of any fraternal organization. Just this past fall, we won Sigma Delta Tau's philanthropy and placed second in Zeta Tau Alpha's. This, combined with several successful mixers, contributed to a very successful social semester. Pi Kapp is an established force on campus and always looking for new members to add to the strongest brotherhood on campus. If you're a young leader looking to be a part of a Greek organization at the University of Miami, rush Pi Kapp.
