Sigma Alpha Epsilon
The Florida Alpha Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon was brought to the University of Miami in the Fall 2002 semester as a Phoenix Colony. The Brotherhood quickly grew and started establishing themselves as the True Gentlemen on campus. By the Fall 2003 semester, Florida Alpha had satisfied all of the SAE National requirements and was granted approval to become a full chapter. As a chapter, Florida Alpha quickly established itself as the best chapter on campus. Within its first two years as a chapter, Florida Alpha had been named the Most Outstanding Chapter by the University of Miami Interfraternity Council. Currently, Sigma Alpha Epsilon is proud to have won the Outstanding IFC Chapter of the Year Award for 8 consecutive years (2008-2015). Highlights of recent years include: - In 2014, our Florida Alpha Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon won the national Zeal Award, deeming us the best SAE chapter in the country. - Last semester, Sigma Alpha Epsilon received the highest GPA out of all IFC organizations. - March 2016, Sigma Alpha Epsilon held its Annual Paddy Murphy Philanthropy Week benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network and raised over $90,000, besting last years mark of $54,000. We generated the highest philanthropic donation ever achieved by a fraternity at a private university. During this time, sororities competed in a week long series of events including a Kickball tournament, a Miss Minerva Pageant and a Brother Auction, to name a few. The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau were named the 2016 Paddy Murphy winners. Sigma Alpha Epsilon Florida Alpha chapter continues better themselves philanthropically, in the classroom, and on the sports field, pushing one another to be better each and every day.
