Student Government is divided into three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The Executive branch leads and represents the entire student body to administration while completing projects and initiatives. The Legislative branch represents specific student populations to better the individual student experience. The Judicial branch regulates and educates Student Government to ensure ethical action. Student Government also features four agencies. Category 5 (Cat 5) works with UM Athletics and is the spirit programming board of SG. Environment & Conservation Organization (ECO) builds an environmentally-friendly campus through student-led initiatives. The Elections Commission (EC) is responsible for coordinating and officiating free and fair Student Government elections. What Matters To U (WMTU) devises, plans, and executes events that will appeal to multiple facets of the student population at the University of Miami through a moderated discussion series. Student Government plans and implements campus-wide initiatives, affecting academics, campus life, dining, and much more.
